Cassie dropped out of college a year before graduating for some unknown reason, or at the very least, she won't tell her close friends Rue and Cassie about.  Cassie has known her roommates since they were kids in gradeschool, so you know that whatever the reason is, she does not feel comfortable sharing it with even her closest of friends. Cassie has always been sort of a space cadet, however after dropping out, she got much worse, digging herself deeper into her imaginary world of comic books and cartoons.  Cassie and her boyfriend Tom share a bizarre "father/ daughter" kind of relationship, as Cassie clung to the much older Tom for support and stability.  Cassie is air-headed, but means well in the end.
