Tom used to go to college in the town of Grover Hills.  After graduating, he decided to stay in the college town and got a job as a mover.  Tom met Cassie sometime after he graduated while she was still in college herself. Tom is a very patient man, which works well with Cassie's child-like nature. Tom shares his girlfriend's enthusiasm for comic books, both new and old. Tom has almost taken a fatherly role in Cassie's life, which he accepts, though isn't entirely fond of it.
